CARES Shelter Follow-up

The Rev. Dr. Rudolph Dunbar, Chairman of the CARES Board of Directors, sent us a very nice thank you letter that everyone should see.  The body of the letter is as follows:

“Thank you for all you did to ensure that the families at the shelter had a wonderful Christmas.  Everything was well organized and went like clockwork.  After everyone left (I’m sure this means Santa and his helpers), the families had a quiet day.  The mothers cleaned up and then sat around the table and talked.  The children went upstairs and played with their games and toys.  It was a peaceful evening.  Everyone was contented and relaxed.  It was more than the presents.  It was that someone thought about them and cared.  That’s a rare and most precious gift.  Again, thank you for all you did.  And I wish you the best of new years.”

What an insightful comment…someone thought about them and cared!  That is a rare and precious gift and one that seems to be present in abundance at Trinity.  The Holy Spirit is alive and well at TUMC.
